CNC Skill Standards

As automation and advanced manufacturing continue to transform New Zealand’s engineering sector, demand is growing for people with strong CNC (Computer Numerical Control) skills. To meet this need, Hanga-Aro-Rau (Workforce Development Council), in collaboration with industry partners, ATNZ and MTONZ, has developed new skill standards.

Studying these skills standards allows learners to build specialist CNC skills and raises the safety, quality, and maintenance capability of engineering workplaces.

ATNZ’s full micro-credential is expected to launch soon (pending TEC approval).

Why choose CNC training with ATNZ?

  • Developed with industry, for industry – ensuring real-world relevance.
  • Flexible entry through individual skill standards.
  • Builds technical, quality, and safety competencies valued by employers.
  • Strengthens pathways into advanced manufacturing and mechanical engineering careers.
