Welding Level 3

The course has been developed to provide specialist training for people wanting to work as welders in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. It will provide graduates with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to perform a defined range of welding tasks under limited supervision.

This qualification leads to and is a prerequisite for the New Zealand Certificate in Welding (Level 4).

The intended framework for progression in the industry to become a qualified tradesperson is to achieve the combination of this qualification and the New Zealand Certificate in Welding (Level 4).

This qualification may also lead to the New Zealand Certificate in Engineering Fabrication (Trade) (Level 4) with strands in Heavy Fabrication, Light Fabrication, and Steel Construction.
