Maintain mechanical building services
Service pumps, fans, plant equipment, and control systems to keep buildings operating efficiently and safely.
Test, commission, and fault-find systems
Diagnose faults, check pressures and airflow, and ensure building services operate reliably and efficiently.
Solve practical building system problems
Apply technical knowledge and logical thinking to improve system performance and prevent breakdowns.

Training Overview
Your training pathway
Earn while you learn in a full-time Mechanical Building Services role. From day one, you’re paid to build real skills while working towards your New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Building Services (Level 4).
Your training combines hands-on experience, online learning, and occasional block courses. You’ll also have a dedicated ATNZ Account Manager supporting you throughout your apprenticeship.
